My Top 10 Beach Essentials

Hey guys! Hows everyone doing on a wet Sunday? Just had a hearty meal over at my Grandmother's place, so I feel like I'm ready to start on this week's blog post!

So i went to Sentosa on the 26th of June which was on Thursday with 2 of my girlfriends. Before we headed to the beach we were a little hungry and decided to grab a pizza from Bora Bora Margarita Bar located near the beach.

And here's my full outfit for that day:

Haha everything's from Cotton On except for the black see through top which is from H&M.

Not going to dwell too much on the pizza. It was mediocre. This is how it looked like :

We found the perfect spot with the right amount of shade AND sun.
The weather was absolutely perfect that day.

OKOK ENOUGH OF RAMBLING. LETS START WITH THE MAIN REASON OF THIS BLOGPOST!

So here are My Top 10 Beach Essentials!

1) Shades/ Sunglasses- Very important to keep direct sunlight away from my precious eyes. And also keeps the salt water from stinging your eyes. I own many so I choose according to what I'm wearing that day. B-)

2) Lip balm- This one by Giovanni is my absolute fave! Firstly because its in the flavour of Peppermint Treat. And secondly because it has a whopping SPF value of 35!

3) A long lasting lip colour- Since I wasn't wearing much makeup, I decided to add a pop of colour on my lips. So I chose M.A.C's lipstick in Candy Yum Yum which is a bright neon pink with a matte finish. Then i go over my lips with my favourite lip balm to protect them.

4) elf's Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Sunkissed - This product is perfect in achieving that beautiful beach glow. It looks so natural on tanned skin like mine. I usually apply this with my finger on areas where the sunlight will naturally hit on. Like my cheek bones, down the bridge of my nose and on my temples.

5) Wet wipes/Tissues- Always good to have some in your bag. I'm sure you don't need me to explain why. ;))

6) Hand Sanitizer- I don't only bring this to the beach. I actually carry this everywhere I go. Love the ones from Bath&Body Works! So many flavours to choose from!

7) Hair ties- Sometimes when the weather gets hotter you just have to change your hairstyle and rock a sexy beach bun.

8) Body mist/spray- I love light smelling yet long lasting fragrances. So this one from The Body Shop is perfect. Its the Moroccan Rose body mist. Sadly, they've discontinued this scent and replaced it with another similar rose one. Need to pick it up soon since I'm running out of this.

9) Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturiser- With SPF 15, it's a must have for me since my skin will be exposed to the sun a lot. Absorbs into the skin really fast too!
10) WATER- I can't stress enough how important it is to bring along a water bottle. Since you're out in the sun, its easy to get dehydrated fast. Many people tend to forget or be ignorant when it comes to bringing water along. Also because a bottle of water at places of attraction like the beaches at Sentosa can cost a hefty $3. So don't waste your money and bring a water bottle along wherever you go!

Ok so that was my Top 10 Beach Essential. I hope you liked it! These are just some of the basic things that can be found in my beach bag along with some towels and a spare change of clothes. :) We left the beach at around 7pm and headed back to Vivocity for dinner. Decided to have some Swiss cuisine for dinner so we went to Marché. I had their signature Rösti with Garlic Pork Sausage and a bottle of Root Beer.

So thats it from me for now. Stay tuned for a new post here every Sunday! Till then take care! :-*

d'Good Cafe

Hey guys! So it's my first ever blog post and there's no better way to start off  then with FOOD!

So 2 of my good buddies and I were hunting for some good food along holland village. I'm always on the hunt for great cafes in Singapore. Especially the ones that don't charge service & GST! Haha!
As a student, there's always a budget and it can be difficult some times when in search of great quality food AND service.
That's why this website, http://blog.moneysmart.sg/lifestyle/15-great-hipster-cafes-where-you-dont-have-to-pay-for-service-and-gst/ , comes in handy for me. ;)

So this is what the cafe looks like on the outside :

Located at 273 Holland Ave, 278992 its not that hard to find this cafe, quietly tucked away in a little corner.
Now, I've read many mixed reviews about this cafe.. So it's time for my very own personal experience.
Are you guys ready? ;)

I absolutely love this cafe for MANY REASONS!!
Firstly we were warmly greeted by the staff working there. Since one of my buddy was Muslim we asked if the cafe was halal. It was not since they did serve bacon but when we took a look at the menu, none of the names of dishes had the word 'PORK'. So my buddy was fine with it and said she'll order the tomato based portobello pasta. For myself, i wanted something not too filling so I could leave some room for dessert.

So this is what I ordered:

Steak & Cheese Pie with sides of Chips & Salad. $14
Green Tea Cream Frappe with Whipped Cream. $6.50

So at first we sat indoors at the 2nd level cos it was really hot even though we were so tempted to sit at the Rooftop Alfresco. So the ambience itself gets 5 stars from me!
Of Course I had to take some shots at the beautifully decorated Alfresco area!

Now the food. Words can't describe how pleasantly surprised I was when I cut open the pie. P.S. I did take a picture of it but failed at making it look appetising miserably.
It was filled, and when I say filled, I really mean FILLED, with huge chunks of tender steak and melty cheese. It was pure divine. Salad was great! The dressing was a little on the sweet side which for me is a plus point! However, the only thing i don't get, is why they would pair potato chips with this dish. Just the pie and salad was good enough for me. :)
The drink on the other hand was divine as well. A little too much matcha powder but other than that was fine. :)
So in totality, the food gets 4.5 stars from me!
Remember how I was trying to save some room for dessert? Haha there wasn't any room left so I didn't get a chance to try their desserts. What a shame. :(
One thing's for sure, I will DEFINITELY be coming back to this place with lots of room for desserts!

Lastly when it comes to service I feel that this cafe had it on point. They were really friendly! And also since it was more like a self service cafe, I wasn't sure how things worked. They were really patient and explained everything in detail. A very satisfying experience.
So service gets 5 stars from me as well!

Thats all from me now. Seeing how cafe hopping/hunting is getting pretty famous among youths this days inspires me to start a blog with my honest opinions and reviews to the ones I've been to. I won't be only doing reviews on cafes but also beauty and fashion related posts.
So stay tuned for more exciting posts ok?
